There is a left, a middle and a right. I am on the right. Not all Right Wingers are alike. I don't speak for all of them and I sure don't go for the stereotype that Right Wingers are crazy, gun toten racists, so stop thinking that way already. The following is one man's opinion.
The Right Winger can best be described as a modern day, common sense, conservative.
Those of us on the right hold some general beliefs in common:
1. All people have the right to live free and determine their own destiny.
2. America is the greatest force for advancing freedom in the history of the planet.
3. The U.S. Constitution is the greatest secular document ever created and, although it is secular, the influence of God in its creation cannot be denied.
4. The federal government has very limited authority as specified in the U.S. Constitution.
5. One of the most important roles of the federal government is to provide for the national security of this country, which includes, securing our borders.
6. The right winger desires peace, but we understand that sometimes war is necessary.
7. There are some bad policemen, but the overwhelming majority do a great job. We are
grateful that they are willing to put their lives on the line to protect us.
8. We believe in the right to own guns for our personal protection.
9. We believe that people who do bad things deserve to be punished. We may feel badly that someone had a rough childhood, but that gives them no right to harm another innocent person.
10. A murderer should pay with that which he/she has taken from someone else.
11. The most innocent of all -- the child developing in the womb -- needs to be protected.
12. We judge everyone on what they do as an individual, not on the color of their skin.
13. We believe that trial attorneys have run amok and are sucking the lifeblood out of business.
14. We believe that our schools have been taken over by leftists who care more about their own agenda than teaching our children skills needed to succeed -- reading, writing, math, and science.
15. We believe that homosexuals should be afforded the benefits of civil unions, but that marriage is between a man and a woman.
16. We believe that the excessive confiscation by the government, of the money we earn, is both immoral and hurts our economy.
17. We believe that "climate change" is a natural occurance, not caused by man. However, we are custodians of this planet and need to do whatever practical to limit our footprint.
18. The right winger believes we should pursue alternative energy sources such as wind, solar, etc., but until we have an alternate source "that is economically feasable and practical", we need to "drill baby drill" in ANWAR and elsewhere here in the U.S.
19. We believe that immigrants are welcome here in America, but they should obey our laws, "assimilate" and wait their turn in line to come into this nation.
